Reble, reble.

I think it's very dangerous to view Jesus simply as a meek and mild lamb who went to the slaughter for our sins. Of course Jesus was these things but he was also a reble rouser, a political activist and someone who stired things up a bit.
His actions in the temple when he emptied it of the money changers and thoes who sold sacrifices were not thoes of a meek and mild man. He was angry, he over threw tables, he flogged people!!! He chased the sinners out of the house of God! Jesus was political! Christianity is about being polotical because if seeking the truth and justice for all God's people is not about being political I don't know what is.
It's so easy to sit on the fence and alow issues of faith to pass us by because we feel "unqualified" to speak out about the gross abuses being perpertrated the Church. In many countries the church is a political institution. Take the UK for example, many of our laws and guidlines have precendent in scripture.
As Christians, I believe it is our duty to get angry and act when we see injustice, to lobby parliment to over throw or repeal laws that are unjust, to ask for the rights of thoes who can not ask for them themselves, to be a force for change not only in our own countries but in our world.
Too long has the church controlled world through dogma, ignoring the central tenenats of Christ's teaching. Too long have Christians as a whole rested on their laurals and refused to change what they know to be fundimentaly corrupt in their own churches, never mind about in the world. How is this serving God's greater plan?
My Jesus is an angry Jesus. My Jesus stands up for the weak, for the poor, for the opressed, for the abused. My Jesus is strong and political and won't take no for an answer!! My Jesus STILL changes the world.
Now is the time that we as Christians must stand up and be counted for Global justice and human rights and to stop using our religion as an excuse to be supirior to others.
God humbled himself to come to earth so that we might bring the world to His perfect love, to bring the world back to the devine plan of love and justice for all and we can't do that if we tell one another it is either Christanity or polotics. The two are inextricably link and rightly so. Now is the time to tell the world about God's saving grace.
Now is the time to shout, make a noise and be heard!!

    I've always loved that primitive hymn in Philippians 2 about God humbling himself. Sadly with the (Constantian) advent of Christendom the church itself became proud and implicated in so many societal injustices.

    Our personal assurance of God's love, through Christ, counts for nothing if we are not on the side of the downtrodden.

    We must fight for that Upside Down Kingdom proclaimed by Jesus. Through our love and kind actions,even if they seem disruptive of the status quo, we proclaim God's grace more than any pious proclamation!

    And the people said.....AMEN!!!! So long have I heard people say, 'You can't react to things like that if you're a christian' Bollocks! Christianity is about Justice, Righteousness, freedom of life, thought, word and deed, Isaiah says
    in chapter 61: The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
    because the LORD has anointed me
    to preach good news to the poor.
    He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
    to proclaim freedom for the captives
    and release from darkness for the prisoners, [a]

    2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor
    and the day of vengeance of our God,
    to comfort all who mourn,

    3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
    to bestow on them a crown of beauty
    instead of ashes,
    the oil of gladness
    instead of mourning,
    and a garment of praise
    instead of a spirit of despair.
    They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the LORD
    for the display of his splendor.

    4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins
    and restore the places long devastated;
    they will renew the ruined cities
    that have been devastated for generations.

    5 Aliens will shepherd your flocks;
    foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.

    6 And you will be called priests of the LORD,
    you will be named ministers of our God.
    You will feed on the wealth of nations,
    and in their riches you will boast.

    7 Instead of their shame
    my people will receive a double portion,
    and instead of disgrace
    they will rejoice in their inheritance;
    and so they will inherit a double portion in their land,
    and everlasting joy will be theirs.

    8 "For I, the LORD, love justice;

    For I the Lord, love Justice!Jesus was angry many times and usually because of injustice. the temple incident a case in point. the injustice of defiling God's house and making it a place where people who had come to worship, were manipulated into spending more of what little they had on 'a better quality' lamb for sacrifice, or some other scheming litle plan to make money out of people's faith and commitment to their God! And what a shame more people today dont turn over a few tables? i agree that Jesus was political, but unlike our modern politicians who seem to only feed their own needs and have made it all about personal power and wealth, Jesus's pont, is about in-justice and is righteous anger! So lets get out there and do Righteous Anger!!!! Amen!?

    AMEN!
    And my situation at the moment is about righteuos anger. I'm learning a lot at the moment about justice and rightenous through a personal situation and even though I'm hurt and angry, I still love the person that caused me the hurt. But I also refuse to let them walk all over me. I'm claiming the justice of Christ in this issue and know that He walks beside me and is up holding me in it all. I only pray that some of that fall out of this situation will be healed and that all party's involved will come back to love and respect for each other.

    I know and as you shared with me yesterday I know the situation you are talking about. Its is definately righteous anger!And amen to the other person in your situation who stood up for righteousness and justice too!!!! Well done! To love people who damage us is the hardest challenge of all, but remember, Christ did not come to heal people who are well! But to heal those who are not! And those who are not will only be healed if they receive the un-conditional, un-swerving love which only God is able to give us. Because your heart belongs to Jesus, you are able to give that love to the people who have damaged you! In time this will be their healing. La, to suffer and to hurt, and to still love is a precious gift that only the spirit of God can bestow upon you! That gift of Grace was yours for the taking when Christ did just that for you and me and all..... So get angry, shout a lot, cry a lot, and love a lot, because when I ask myself WWJD? in your situation that is the answer! In your heart there is a light which burns everlastingly and no one can take that from you. No one can ever snuff it out. They will try! The devil will try, and use the weak and helpless who are easily manipulated to hurt you and it will happen again! Because he sees the light of Christ, the un-stoppable, power of love in your heart and he doesnt like it! Ha!!! Well knickers to him! The Lala I know and love will never be beaten down! Chin up darling, look him straight in the eye and claim your power! Each time you feel under attack by someone like this, look em in the eye, and say to yourself, "I am a child of the light! The darkness cannot overcome me!" And God will give you the power of love that you need!

    It's so easy to let the devil build strongholds in your mind though. I had a tough day at work yesterday on top of everything else and I was ready to give up on everyting. But then I stopped and thought and I admitted to God that I was down and couldn't cope and asked God for His strength to uplift me and today I feel a lot better. I still don't understand or condone what hapened but I feel I have taken a huge stride forward in my walk with God and I know, not just trust absolutely know, that Godd is working in this situatiion to bring it to the best conclusion. I just pray that people allow God to work His love and magic in their hearts and are able to let go of the hurt. It's something I'm praying for right now. All the comments were to me, about me, the situation is no longer about me...it's much bigger than that. All I can do is keep on keeping on and trust that the Lord will guide me in His ways and that he will give me the tools to handle this situation to his praise and glory.
